Refunds, Warranties and Exchanges

Weigl hardware devices have a warranty period of 24 months from the original date of purchase. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Returns for cash or credit are valid only for 30 days following the purchase of hardware. Exchanges are only following the issue of an RMA within the first 90 days following the purchase of the hardware. Items must be in new condition only for all returns and exchanges and Weigl reserves the right to impose a restocking fee of up to 20% at any time and for any reason. Warranty exchange only for the same product is possible beyond 90 days from purchase. Software products purchased from Weigl Works, LLC, Weigl GmbH & CO KG, Brainsalt Media, GmbH, Entertainment Sciences Group or Motalab, LLC are non-refundable at any time, or for any reason. Please contact your Weigl representative to arrange a free trial prior to purchase of these software products. Any item listed as “non-inventory hardware,” or services/consulting in your receipt or estimate are also not returnable at any time or for any reason.

The warranty covers parts that have been determined defective due to manufacturing or material defects and will be replaced or repaired. The replaced or repaired part(s) do not affect the warranty and the warranty will still expire 24 months from the original date of purchase. Damaged parts will not be returned. Any further legal claims, in particular those for compensation for direct or indirect damages are excluded from the warranty.

The customer shall pay all shipping costs to and from Weigl GmbH & Co KG or Weigl Works, LLC should there be a need for parts be repaired or replaced in the Weigl hardware device. The transport of the unit is at the risk of the customer.

If a repair order was issued, but no fault could be detected, we reserve the right to charge service and diagnostic fees.

Excluded from the warranty are:

  • Damage caused by errors in installation.
  • Damage caused by tampering with the device by persons not expressly authorized by Weigl GmbH & Co KG or Weigl Works, LLC to do so.
  • Failure to follow the instructions (i.e. connection to the wrong voltage or incorrect input or output circuit).
  • Damage caused by negligent handling, misuse, or improper use of the Weigl Device.
  • Damage from natural causes such as fire, lightening, water damage, etc.
  • Items listed on invoices which are not paid in full.
  • Service or installation labor in the absence of an over-riding service contract.

Repairs

  • $140 diagnostic fee (includes return shipping) is required for all repairs. If you choose to repair your unit, or it is under warranty, this will be waived (less shipping) or applied towards your repair cost.
  • ProCommander® AX and AX_W units carry a flat rate repair of $499 within the Americas. Any repairs made to these units will be at a cost of $499 if repairable.
  • ProCommander® AX and AX_W units out of warranty can be exchanged for B-Stock units (based on availability and subject to a trade-in of a repairable unit) for $899.
  • ProCommander® HX, VX, HXi units carry a flat rate repair of $699 within the Americas. Any repairs made to these units will be at a cost of $699 if repairable.
  • ProCommander® HX, VX, HXi units out of warranty can be exchanged for B-Stock units (based on availability and subject to a trade-in of a repairable unit). Quoted upon request.
  • Original ProCommander® devices will be evaluated and quoted inclusive of the $140 diagnostic fee.
  • Pro I/O™ devices will be evaluated and quoted inclusive of the $140 diagnostic fee.
  • Showforge® dongles can be replaced for $100, the damaged dongle must be returned.
  • PrismTag™ systems are quoted per incidence and only through OEM partners.
  • Pro VP™ systems are non-repairable and will be exchanged either under warranty or at a cost of $599 hardware to hardware if out of warranty (your licenses will transfer, hardware exchange required).
  • RMAs and prior authorization is required. All repairs remain our property once in possession until paid in full.

Support & Services

  • You can reach us during normal business hours 9am – 6pm M-F EST at 440-941-5849.
  • Please use support@weiglcontrols.com after hours.
  • Product support and warranty concerns are covered by phone or email if the serial number is within its 2 year warranty, beyond this – hourly support rates will apply.
  • Hourly support rates are in effect for the following services:
    • Creating Control.INI files for production use.
    • Programming Showforge® timelines for production use.
    • Motor support beyond what’s in our published documentation and any firmware or hardware related issues from third parties or other motion control devices.
    • Lighting/Serial/Network device support beyond what is in our published documentation.
    • Products out of warranty. You may be required to provide a device serial number to begin advanced troubleshooting without associated support costs.
    • Legacy timeline platforms or shows older than 5 years.
    • Where we are not engaged otherwise in services on your particular project. *Ie. you are purchasing a product which does not include services by default.*
  • Hourly support rates are as follows:
    • $85/hr. for project support services Tier III and below (does not require engineering changes or support).
    • $135/hr. for Tier IV project support services where engineering support is required.
    • We will inform you when time is being logged and/or can send you an estimate first at your request.
    • Annual service contracts are available for OEM partners only.
