Pro I/O™ & WEMLink Series
Pro I/O™ interfaces are expansion devices for controlling and interfacing with many types of external equipment. Pro I/O’s are extremely flexible in handling different input signals and in processing to device-specific outputs. Connect to your show via enterprise class network connections, DMX/ArtNet or RS-485/RS-232. For interactive applications, you can even use USB. They support a variety of industry standard lighting, motion control and industrial show control protocols, enabling control of animatronics, mechanical action equipment, theatrical lighting and environmental lighting controls within the same show control environment.
Pro I/O’s are designed to offer powerful features in a small form factor. This set of interface devices delivers many options to fit your installation requirements. The integration of analog and digital PWM, contact closure outputs, standard Art-Net and DMX gives you the opportunity to expand the capabilities of the ProCommander® Series, Showforge® and Conductor anywhere on your network. With over 10 varieties and growing, Pro I/O’s help you expand your reach!
Expand Your Reach
WEM-NET
Connect Pro I/O™ modules through the self-powering WEM-NET connection jacks providing power and high speed communications. Daisy chain up to 32 modules without additional Ethernet infrastructure, using standard CAT5/6 cables from any ProCommander® controller.
Direct Connection
Connect Pro I/O™ modules directly to a PC/MacOS computer for live timeline playback, bypassing a ProCommander® module if stand-alone playback is not required. Connect an unlimited number of Pro I/O™ modules via IP connection.
PIO Routing
Connect Pro I/O™ modules through a ProCommander® for integrated routing once the programming PC or MacOS machine is removed. Connect your Pro I/O™ modules and ProCommander® to an enterprise architecture easily.

Use stand-alone or with ProCommander® controllers
All outputs are controllable through simple UDP commands, RS232, ArtNet or DMX. Daisy chain connections via standard CAT 5/6 cables allow easy system integration without the use of networking if desired.
With the DMX read-in function, the individual outputs can be assigned to definable DMX or Art-Net channels.
The twenty-four character alpha numeric display provides information about the current operation mode. This helps provide feedback and diagnostics about the proper function of the Pro I/O™device.
Pro I/O™ Analog Modules
Pro I/O™ Analog modules allow for 16-bit precision control with or without Weigl ProCommander® or ProCommander® X-Series controllers. Use Pro I/O™ analog modules as simple extensions to lighting systems by connecting directly to an Art-Net or DMX system (adapter required for DMX 3 pin/5pin input), or use with Weigl controllers for full analog precision motion or lighting control. Up to 512 analog outputs can be connected via Pro I/O™ analog modules per ProCommander® device.
In addition to standard Pro I/O™ function, Analog Pro I/O™ modules provide extended transitional motion control for unplanned jumps in animatronic timelines, as well as interactive shows. Set and scale end point limits to fit your mechanical needs and prevent challenges associated with reduced resolution when doing so.
Advanced homing and offset extended API abilities provide unparalleled fidelity in animatronics motion control.
Pro I/O™ Digital Modules
Pro I/O™ digital modules allow for on/off control with or without Weigl ProCommander® or ProCommander® X-Series controllers. Use Pro I/O™ digital modules as simply relay extensions to a DMX/ArtNet system via 50% off/on logic and more. Expand your ProCommander® show with advanced and/or interactive gate logic to allow for highly flexible interactive timeline and external control applications.
Pro I/O™ Input & DMX Modules
Pro I/O™ input capable modules allow input to ProCommander® logic, as well as Showforge® and Conductor timeline software. Send UDP or serial messages to related ProCommander® or Pro I/O™ devices, or capture additional DMX universes of data from a lighting console or legacy system.
Up to 32 DMX Pro I/O™ devices can be used with a single ProCommander® X-Series controller, or up to 4 DMX Pro I/O devices on a standard ProCommander® (DMX 4 module is designed to expand an original ProCommander® to it’s maximum capacity, some limitations apply beyond 16/32 universe total per ProCommander®). Use DMX Pro I/O™ devices as intelligent ArtNet (sACN on DMX4) and DMX mergers with ease-in and basic show logic.
Pro I/O™ remote modules have virtually no limits within the Weigl ecosystem or on their own. Use each one as a Pro I/O network gateway, or simply use to expand show logic or trigger abilities.
WEMLink™ PLC Integration Devices
WEMLink™ modules represent the next generation of expansion abilities for the Weigl ecosystem. Connect a WEMLink™ module between any Weigl ProCommander® or directly to Showforge™ or Conductor software to open up related PLC or motor control functions. Complementary to the Pro I/O™ series, WEMLink™ allows next generation third-party integration to our award winning motion and interactive control architectures, while allowing seamless communication to industrial motion control systems. Using standard networking or local WEM-Net connections, the WEMLink™ modules can provide easy, full resolution, low latency motion control expansion to PLCs without additional setup between the two systems thanks to industry standard communications.
Up to 100 16-bit analog channels from a ProCommander® pass through easily to PLC applications and hardware for motion control. Up to 100 variables can be monitored in real-time and mirrored back on the ProCommander® for bi-directional show operations.
